House on a House
In Klingelbeek, Arnhem, a dilapidated house was rescued from demolition by a talented local designer couple. Together with the owners, we developed a plan to expand the home while enhancing its unique 1980s esoteric and organic architectural quality. Using renewable materials, the house was transformed into an energy-neutral, net-zero carbon home that is deeply connected to nature. Innovative features such as recirculating showers, wash basins linked to the toilet cistern, and rainwater collection systems integrate natural flows into daily living, making sustainability a seamless part of the experience.
