Room for Learning?
CEDRIC PRICE: Room for Learning? presents a distinct selection of projects by the British architect Cedric Price (1934-2003). The exhibition focuses on four of his truly radical projects on and about education, including FUN PALACE and POTTERIES THINKBELT. The gallery is turned into a ‘room for learning’ presenting three different mediums and spatial configurations that bring some of the key aspects of Price’s practice to life and offers a space to reflect on one’s own practice. Materials are sourced from the massive twin volume publication Cedric Price Works 1952-2003: a forward-minded retrospective by Samantha Hardingham (Architectural Association/Canadian Centre for Architecture, 2016) and a living history documentary Memory Bank by Jan Nauta and Victor Vroegindeweij, as well as featuring furniture designed by Price.
